So far I've made 4 post mainly about Daniel chapters 2,7,8, tiny bit touched on the other part of the prophecies within.

Here I'm gonna try and see if I can break down these pictures for you.

Jeremiah's 70 weeks?
25:11 KJV And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
25:12 KJV And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.
29:10 KJV For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.
Daniel 9:2 KJV  In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
Daniel 9:24 KJV  Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

In Daniel, he reads the prophecy from Jeremiah and God also sent Gabriel to also show him something concerning everything that he has been going thru and all his visions he had. 70 weeks are determined.

Daniel 9

9:24 KJV Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Ezra 7

7:1-28 KJV Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,

2 The son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahitub,

3 The son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth,

4 The son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki,

5 The son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest:

6 This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.

7 And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.

8 And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.

9 For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.

10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.

11 Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.

12 Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.

13 I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee.

14 Forasmuch as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which is in thine hand;

15 And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem,

16 And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem:

17 That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.

18 And whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God.

19 The vessels also that are given thee for the service of the house of thy God, those deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem.

20 And whatsoever more shall be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure house.

21 And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily,

22 Unto an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.

23 Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?

24 Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them.

25 And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that is in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know them not.

26 And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.

27 Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:

28 And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.

To find out when this start we must goto Nehemiah and Ezra. There are 4 decrees in Nehemiah and Ezra. 2 permission slips and 2 decrees. The first 3 times were failed missions but useful for the people to know that God is trying to get them home to rebuild, and on the 4th attempt is when this prophecy starts for the 70 weeks in Daniel 9.

The picture pretty much does the work for us.

Good links to consider as you dive into the topic of Artaxerxes or Nehemiah etc. These people did exists long ago.

Ezra 1:1-4

KJV 1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

2  Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

3  Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

4  And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.

Ezra 6:1,3

Ezra 6:1 KJV  Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.

Ezra 6:3 KJV  In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;

Ezra 7:11-13

11 Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.

12  Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.

13  I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee.

Nehemiah 2:6-8

KJV 6 And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.

7  Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah;

8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.

Ezra 1:1-4 Proclamation - decree - command - Cyrus - first year as king

6:13-14 and verse 8 decree from chap 1 issued by - Darius -

7:11-26 decree in verse 13

Nehemiah 2:6-8 Permission and letters but no decree

So Ezra has 3 decrees and Nehemiah has a letter of permission,

All 4 pertain to the building of Jerusalem and it's temple.

Now to find the dates.

Cyrus 600 BC - 530

Darius 522 BC - 486

Artaxerxes 465 BC - 424

So the dates match Daniel?

Daniel 9:24-25 KJV  Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.  25  Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

And we cannot forget this one part, this part many people misplace and put it in the future where it doesn't belong according to the text.

Daniel 9:26 KJV  And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

And after threescore, ... 1 score is 20, 3 is 60.

and two weeks, ... that's 62 weeks altogether

shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Daniel 9:27 KJV  And he shall confirm the covenant with many, ... Jesus gather followers.

for one week, ... Even after His death people wanted to follow Him.

and in the ... midst of the week, ... Middle of week.

he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, ... Daily sacrifices ended.

and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

This part is not talking about any other place in history, but only for the time of Jesus while He is on Earth. Not past and not our future, cause think about it, we are not sacrificing for our sins today are we? If this is about the future, that means Jesus will end the daily sacrifices and be cut off, ... to die again. Jesus died once and for all, Jesus will not "Die" again.

The first unit of 49 years (seven “sevens”) covers the time that it took to rebuild Jerusalem, “with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble” (Daniel 9:25). This rebuilding is chronicled in the book of Nehemiah.

ree

So far we went thru the first half of the prophecy picture. (The death of Steven ended the prophecy as there was still half week left).

ree

What about this second half?

To understand the second half, one must review the first 4 parts again where Daniel talks about the "Little Horn" power.

Tho part 1 should be enough.

7:8 I considered 19347920z8754z8723 the horns, 7162 and, behold, 431 there came up 5559z8754 among 997 them another 317 little 2192 horn, 7162 before 69254481 whom there were three 8532 of 4481 the first 6933 horns 7162 plucked up by the roots: 6132z8725 and, behold, 431 in this 1668 horn 7162 [were] eyes 5870 like the eyes 5870 of man, 606 and a mouth 6433 speaking 4449z8743 great things. 7260

A horn is a nation/kingdom, and so how does a nation speak? Thru it's laws and actions.

7:25 And he shall speak 4449z8741 [great] words 4406 against 6655`Illäyä´עִלָּיָא, 5943 and shall wear out 1080z8741 the saints 6922 of `Elyônעֶליוֹן, 5946 and think 5452z8748 to change 8133z8682 times 2166 and laws: 1882 and they shall be given 3052z8725 into his hand 3028 until 5705 a time 5732 and times 5732 and the dividing 6387 of time. 5732

Every nation is known for how they treat others and by their law which they make, and so we can also see how the Bible is telling us that after the fall of Rome and during the same time of the 10 horns which are 10 generals after fall of Rome, comes another nation, a Religious nation, so strong that it uproots 3 horns/nations/kingdoms. And thru history, what do we see rising up after fall of Rome?

The creation of the term “papal supremacy” dates back to the 6th century, at the time of the fall of the Western Roman Empire, which was the beginning of the rise of the bishops of Rome to not just the position religious authority, but the power to be the ultimate ruler of the kingdoms within the Christian community.

It is no argument on when the Roman Catholic Church came about, and should not be an argument as to why the name "Roman" stays with the church as many of us do see it and know the why, Christianity was starting and spreading and the Gospel was to be preached to all the world. But to give yourself power that God did not give, and to use the name of Jesus while killing people in the New Testament goes against many Bible Doctrines and against the teachings of Jesus, and I don't even have to get deep into the Doctrines of the Papacy to show how they are not of God.

  1. But because the Bible prophesied this is what makes people angry?

  2. That means you have a problem with the Bible and not the preacher?

    • Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, ...

    • and shall wear out the saints of the most High, ...

    • and think to change times and laws: ...

    • and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time ???

After breaking this down, this 1 verse, it is clearly talking about the little horn power, speaking great words against the most High, wearing out the saints, Changes times and Laws, ... for a time and times and half a time, which means 3 and half years.

Time = 1 year

Times plural = 2 years.

Half means = 1/2 year.

Answer:
This is a common misunderstanding. Catholics do not worship on the Sabbath, which according to Jewish law is the last day of the week (Saturday), when God rested from all the work he had done in creation (Gen. 2:2-3). Catholics worship on the Lord’s Day, the first day of the week (Sunday, the eighth day); the day when God said “Let there be light” (Gen. 1:3); the day when Christ rose from the dead; the day when the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles (Day of Pentecost). The Catechism of the Catholic Church says: “The Church celebrates the day of Christ’s Resurrection on the ‘eighth day,’ Sunday, which is rightly called the Lord’s Day” (CCC 2191).

According to this website, they gave themselves permission to change the Sabbath day from Saturday (7th day) to Sunday (1st or 8th day). 8th day means they have the ability to create another day???

I can go on and on on the many things that Catholic Church does that isn't Biblical. Martin Luther is a good example of someone protesting against the church, and he was just 1 man, there was a whole entire "Reformation" going on before the time of Luther, which was all inside the 1260 year prophecy.

in 1796, during the French Revolutionary Wars, Napoleon's troops had invaded Rome and taken the previous pontiff, Pope Pius VI, as prisoner to France, where he died in 1799.

This is the end of the 1260 year prophecy, when the Pope had lost his power.

I find this picture very helpful as I was starting to learn more and more about the book of Daniel. I hope this information helps you as you also study more and more into the prophecies in Daniel. Now remember, this isn't hate speech, this isn't some weird Doctrine, this is what I see in Daniel and I believe to be true cause you cannot misplace text to fit your view.

The picture speaks for itself, and I pray I helped to make it somewhat easier to understand. Plz comment if you have any questions.
