The Book of Daniel, Fast tracked:
These 5 links claim that the age of Daniel is before the time of Jesus. 2K years ago would be what? 21 B.C.? Making the book of Daniel well over 2 thousand years old.
There are more links that can be acquired from many other people on both sides of the Religious topic that will also make the claim of the book of Daniel to be before the time of Jesus.
With these links, and many more that you yourself can find, we see that Daniel's scrolls were written long before Jesus. Some claim during Babylon and some claim during the beginning of Rome, in this post I hope you can see that honestly it doesn't matter simply because the scrolls of Daniel still prove many many hundreds of years of future prophecy that no man on Earth or fallen angel could ever have done.
Remember, Humans and angels (Good or bad) do not know the future.
What is Daniel about and how do we interpret it?
What I was taught was to use the whole Bible as a whole when researching topics inside the Bible to understand what is going on from within the Bible. Especially when learning about symbols.

Pictures are nice to have to help on the understanding of what is going on.
Here we find many hidden symbols to the unskilled person who doesn't see anything but text.
In this link: https://thebiblespace.quora.com/The-Prophecies-of-Daniel I have tried to explain what I could but I also see some spots where I have failed. In this post I hope to do this again and try to make it easier to understand.
Main list of symbols used by Daniel:

Lion and Gold are used to represent Babylon.
Bear and Silver are used to represent Medo-Persia empire.
Leopard (w/4 heads) and Brass are used to represent Greece.
Terrible beast (w/10 horns) and Iron are used to represent Rome.
Horns are also kings.
Daniel 2:38-40 KJV And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
(39) And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
(40) And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
Daniel 7:17 KJV These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
Daniel 7:24 KJV And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
So far we see the heads and horns and animals represent kings/kingdoms and Metals from the chapter 2 image also represents kings/kingdoms.
Cyrus is also mentioned in the Bible.

So with just this much information we can goto history to find out more information.
You can search further into this if you want, but these are just 3 links to make a point.

Now the Bible doesn't give all the details that some people want, it mainly stays in the topic of lineage of God's people to tell the story of God's people. The book of Daniel is about God's people for example. (And rest of world as future unfolds).
The Leopard had 4 heads, representing Greece, and what do we find in history books?
After Alexander's death, his Empire was divided among his four generals (known in Latin as the Diadochi, the name by which they are still referenced, from the Greek, Diadokhoi, meaning "successors"):
Lysimachus - who took Thrace and much of Asia Minor.
Cassander - controlled Macedonia and Greece.
Ptolemy I - ruled Egypt, Palestine, Cilicia, Petra, and Cyprus. He founded the Ptolemaic Dynasty which lasted until the death of Cleopatra VII in 30 BCE.
Seleucus I Nicator - ruled the remainder of Asia and founded the Seleucid Empire which was comprised of Mesopotamia, the Levant, Persia, and part of India.
But the beast for Rome doesn't have many heads in Daniel, it has 10 horns. Each horn is also a king/kingdom, or in this sense a general since generals will receive authority when no one else is the ruler.

Just this much is a lot of information to some people and so they'll claim the book of Daniel was written long time after Jesus, but according to many scholars, Daniel was written "Before" Jesus, and you can pick out what date you like to claim Daniel is written and it still predicts the rise and fall of Rome and it's 10 generals that came out of it if you want to claim Daniel from any of the 3 other kingdoms before Rome.
Just this tiny bit is amazing to me when I was first learning about this as an Atheist I once was. And I'm not even that deep into Daniel yet, just simple text scanning and a couple of symbolic names which were honestly pretty easy to find with Google. Yes I use Google, so what? LoL. As an Ex-Atheist, Google was and still is my friend and it helps to search on many many things that people refuse to investigate for themselves. In today's world, with internet, we have zero excuse for not knowing just a tiny bit of what the Bible says in many of Christian Doctrines.
Same thing with Muslims, they have zero excuse for not trying to research, simple research is all that is needed.
Ditto with all other Religions who try to research their own beliefs, Google is amazing. And trying to keep this simple for others to understand, all you have to do is "Google it".
So back to topic:
Rome fell and 10 generals came out of it. 3 fell (Genocide) and a little horn came up from the 10.
Daniel 7:8 KJV I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Daniel 7:20 KJV And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
Just with these next two verses, and considering that horns are kings/kingdoms, how does a kingdom have eyes and speak? How does a nation speak? Thru it's actions upon the surrounding nations and on it's own people. And so who is this little horn with eyes and mouth?
Well, after the death of Jesus, what came next?
Christians.
Christians came next after Jesus died/buried/resurrected.
Remember, Daniel is about God's people, and so this is about Religion and what is coming next.
Everyone wants Rome, the power it once held and so of course many nations would like to take a grab at the now free land there is that was left behind at the fall of Rome. Also notice how the Bible doesn't talk about another nation king/kingdom conquering Rome, and what we see from websites is that Rome fell from within.
Daniel 2:41-43 --- say this same thing. KJV And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
Everyone wants what Rome had, but no one will share and all will fight over it as each one wants to be the next ruler, but God said no. God says none will cleave together.
No matter how many times they marry inside the family to keep and collect as many kingdoms as possible, God said this would not happen and Rome is the last kingdom. Cept for God's Kingdom of course.
Rome becomes Christian
In 313 CE, the emperor Constantine issued the Edict of Milan, which granted Christianity—as well as most other religions—legal status. While this was an important development in the history of Christianity, it was not a total replacement of traditional Roman beliefs with Christianity.
Conclusion
The Roman Empire did not become Christianized overnight. Roman religious beliefs changed slowly over time. At the time the Western Roman Empire fell in 476 CE, Christianity was still spreading. It is also important to remember that Christianity itself did not appear suddenly or fully-formed. Christianity grew out of Jewish traditions and was shaped by Roman cultural and political structures for several centuries. To take one lasting example, the head of the Roman Catholic Church—the Pope—takes his title from the old Roman office of pontifex maximus—the high priest. Roman culture was not wholly replaced, but was often repurposed as it came into contact with other peoples and cultures. Christianity was deeply influenced by both Judaism and Roman cultural institutions. We can't fully understand the development of the Christian religion without putting it into these contexts!

The little horn is a Religious horn?
Daniel 7:21 KJV I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
Daniel 7:25 KJV And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
You have to figure this out, what Religious power came up after Rome fell?
It has to be during the same period of time after Rome.
It has to be from the 10 generals.
It has to be in the area of Europe.
The Papacy. The Roman Catholic Church came out of the fall of Rome, and this power uprooted 3 horns during it's process. Didn't see that coming huh? Oh wait, this is that weird Doctrine from that weird denomination huh?... I didn't really have to do all that much in this post alone to show you (The reader) that this is not some weird Doctrine from some weird denomination, this is what is said from Daniel and all I am doing is trying to place together what history says.
Roman Catholic Church claims dominance and power over all things and claims all the land Rome once had did it not?
News soon spread throughout Europe that the Pope had excommunicated the Holy Roman Emperor and stripped of his right to rule. It was the culmination to an increasingly bitter dispute that Gregory had with Henry, one that threatened to plunge both Germany and Italy into civil war.
Also plz note that during this time there is a lot of conflict going on. Back and forth war games between all surrounding nations and what Roman Catholic Church is claiming.
I'm gonna have to save this link (Above) and read into it further.
This link is the link above as I was just looking at who is presenting the information.
We can see with these links that the Papacy had power to rule and dominate and conquer and kill etc etc, … all in the name of Jesus of course.
I'll end it here, cause just this much information is a lot and proof that there is a God who did make the heavens and the Earth and everything and loves us so much He even gave prophecy to some of His people and inspired many to write down in scrolls for future use and reference, and even sent His Son down as the "Last Lamb slain" for the sins of the saints.
Now this isn't even touching much of the details about Daniel, this is just a fact track text scanning and a couple symbols to consider and remember with a bunch of links to help jog the brain on how easy it really is to just simply search, … any topic, any Religion.
We live in the time of knowledge, and today we all (Those who have internet) have zero excuse for "Not knowing", … nobody who has this kind of access should be able to say "Idk" or "I never knew".
I also at one time did not know.
I also was once in the Religion of Atheism.

Praise God for allowing me to take the time and research, and praise God for directing me to Daniel and prophecy rather than some other argument. Tho other arguments are fine and even Frank Turek can make a really good case on God and Atheism in his "I don't have enough faith to be an atheist" Videos/College presentations.
